    Francis Pegamegahbow were intorduced to posion gas by the Germans. Half of his men were killed within 3 days of fighting. Fortunately, he was able to acquire a strong reputation and was able to get back on track.

    People who were born in enemy countries such as, Ukrainians, Germans, Austrians, Hungarians, and Croatians were labelled "enemy aliens". The police had the right to imprison these people or depart them without trial. About 8000 enemy aliens worked in labour camps earning only 25 cents a day.

    Jones was heroic and proved a black man's worth in a white man's army. He also saved a soldier from an enemy machine gun. Justice was slightly shown at that time for black people.

    Many women gained social worth through their WWI labour force participation. However, most of the workers earned less than $6 per week when working at the farms. Even though there was an Elections Act for women who were able to vote, not every female had the right. Women of other race didn't have the right till later on.

    New products were introduced at that time. The 1920s were the "roaring years". Except for the housewives, who still had to work the old fashioned way. Some were able to work easier with the new technology invented that included : refrigerators, sewing machines. However, immigrants who came to Canada loved it, but poverty was a major issue resulting for more immigrant housewives needed.

    The workers protested, but still had their jobs shutdown. Fortunately, the workers got their jobs back in 1928.
