This incident showed how unaccepting Canadians were to those of a different origin and how racist the government really was. This shows progress because it never affected the Canadians much at the time, but it also didn't show decline because the relationship with the country in which the boat came from didn't decline but rather stayed the same. -
Canada at war (+1)
When the British went to war, this automatically included Canada because they were related colonies. I believe that this was both a time of progress and decline in many ways, and there is lots of information backing up how this was beneficial and detrimental for Canada at the same time. -
Womens Activist Movemnets (+2)
whilst men were away at War, this opened doors for many women and gave them jobs and higher ranked status in the work community. This was a time of process because it encouraged women's rights movements in the future and started a whole new generation. -
Battle of Vimy Ridge (+2)
The Battle of Vimy Ridge was a time of progress for Canadians. It became a symbolic event that recognized Canada as a threat and really boosted the confidence of Canadian soldiers. -
Halifax Explosion (-2)
At Halifax, the french ship Mont Blanc collided with the Belgium ship Imo. This resulted in the worst Canadian disaster that killed 1600 people and injured 9000 Canadians. -
Women Win Right to Vote (+1)
This was a time of progress because Canadian men were still fighting in wars and Canadians women needed to step up and finally earned the right to. -
WW1 Ends (0)
WW1 had finally come to a close and there was no more war. This was not a time of progress or decline because even though Canada won, we still lost thousands of troops and the ones who came back were extremely traumatized. -
Group of Seven Exhibit (0)
The Group of Seven played a large part in Canadian history, showing how beautiful and recognizable a country like Canada is. This didn't make a difference in Canadians well-beings however It was a large deal for Canadian artists and brought respect to Canadas art community. -

This was when sir Frederick Banting finally created the perfect diabetes fighting cure and his work became recognized nationally very quickly. This was a time of progress because more and more Canadian work was being recognized. -

The stock market crash was the beginning of a very detrimental time for Canada known as The Great Depression. This was a large decline in Canadian history and affected almost everybody Canada wide.
