(%)-Canada and the United States negotiated a treaty about fishing rights in the Pacific Ocean. This was one of the times Canada expressed that it wanted to be totally independent from Britain.

(*)-Basically, a group of five women contested against the idea of women not having the same rights and opportunities as men. They then took this matter to the Supreme Court of Canada where denied these rights. When they took this matter to Privy Council in England where it was declared that women are included in the term "persons".
