Timeline Final Project

  • Prenatal Development

Early body systems and structures are developed in embryonic stage. During the third month sex organs begin to develop. Fingernails, eyelashes, toenails, and body systems become further developed in months 4-6. In the final months, 7-9, the fetus puts on more weight and begins to prepare for life outside the womb.
  • Birth

  • Period: to

    First Two Years

  • Psychosocial Development

From the start I was always a happy baby. A few weeks after birth I began to smile, usually at my sister and parents. I had a secure attachment with my mother and had comfort.
  • Biosocial Development

By the time my second birthday came around, I weighed about 25-30lbs. Throughout the two years of my life I learned to scoot, crawl, and now walk.
  • Cognitive Development

Starting from birth I made noises which we refer to as "cooing". As time went on I said my first word, Mama and then Dada. Around the time I turned 2 I was able to say small statements and shortly after full sentences.
  • Period: to

    The Play Years

  • Biosocial Development

Physically, I was still very little compared to other children my age. I have 5 older siblings so I was constantly around people older than me which made me mature early.
  • Cognitive Development

Before I was at school age my mother taught me the alphabet, how to count, and how to write certain things. I was always good at learning new things and with having previous knowlege Kindergarden was exciting and fun.
  • Psychosocial Development

I was very respectful of authority at a young age, I always followed the rules and was doing everything I could to stay out of trouble. During these years I was always outside playing in the dirt, in my favorite dresses. Because I have older siblings my parents rarely had to set rules, I already knew them.
  • Period: to

    School Years

  • Psychosocial Development

My best friend lived right up the road from me growing up. We would spend all day at school together and then play when we got home until dark. My parents never insisted that I find other friends to play with therefore I was dependent on this friendship. I had many friends at school but I would only want to be with this particular friend.
  • Biosocial Development

During this time school was my favorite thing. I was learning new habits like standing in line, being patient while others speak, and many more. I was always reading and was considered for being in the advanced program at my elementary school.
  • Cognitive Development

My education remained steady. Being in a house with two parents still happily married and my older siblings who all got along with eachother, I learned what love meant. I had and still have a very close family and it made me understand what was important from a young age.
  • Puberty

I recieved my first period which brought on changes to my body and mind due to hormones.
  • Period: to

    Adolescence

  • Biosocial Development

These years were a very hard time in my life. I was bullied before I had braces and was very awkardly skinny at this age, not even weighing 100lbs. Despite being bullied I tried to maintain a positive attitude and had a more mature outlook than many of my peers.
  • Cognitive Development

Throughout these years I developed my own thoughts and opinions. School wasn't as fun but I still managed to enjoy being there. I found my own morals and was trying to find out more about myself.
  • Psychosocial Development

I had many good and bad times throughout adolescence. I created connections with my peers and the staff of my school. My father was hospitalized and was only given two months to live. At this point, I was in a low place and became a lot closer with my family. My dad began to get better but my anxiety did not.
  • High School Graduation

By this time in my life I had just fallen in love for the first time and was finally graduating high school. It was a very happy and proud moment for my family since I was the only Perdue to graduate from a normal school on time.

    Emerging Adulthood

  • Biosocial Development

At this point in my life I began to start college. I didn't have a clue on what I wanted to do but I took the risk of still going and figuring it out.
  • Cognitive Development

By this time I moved out of my parents house and into an apartment with my boyfriend in East Lansing. I stayed very close with my family and continued to live my life with my own morals.
  • Move to Florida

My boyfriend and I move to Florida. I continue my education but still don't have a major picked out.

From the begining I've always had a positive attitude. Throughout the years my optimism hasn't changed and I am happier everyday.
