    Harold Shipman
    On January 31st 2000 Harold Shipman was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of 15 people. Further investigation in the case discovered that the actual number ranges from 215-345 vitims. The inquiry also found that 80% of his victims were women and the instrument used for the murders was lethal amounts of diamorphine. He went unnoticed by signing the victim's death certificates indicating that the victim was seriouly ill and it was a matter of time until they died.

The same night he fell ill with excessive vomiting. He died on November 26th in ICU. It was originally suspected that he had been poisoned with thallium, but in the end it was Polonium-210 that caused his death. The controversy began when Litvinenko accused Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin of being responsible his poisoning.
