Birth of James Horan

James Horan wa born on the 14th of November in the year of 1872. He lived in Dublin, Ireland in a small village with his mom, dad, and his 3 sisters, Dehlia, Dorothy, and Adalade.

The start of my journey.

Dec 10, 1892

I am coming from Ireland on a big boat to the States. The reason I am is because I need a job and our food stock (potatoes) in Ireland is running really low. I'm really going to miss Ireland, my whole family is there.

My arrival in the states.

Jan 14, 1893

I have finally arrived in the States, where there is jobs, and potatoes. The immigrant stations were packed full though. It was very hard to move around and hard to get where I needed to be. I felt like i couldn't breathe from it being so full of people.

New House, New job, new life.

I finally found a deceant place to live in the west. Particarlly New Mexico. I have an ok job, its on the railroad. I make a fair amounf of money, but as long as it paysfor food on the table, its enough for me.

America is a pain.

I'm starting to get tired of American the "Great". People are so judgemental here.

Journey back to ireland

I'm at that point where living in Ireland would be so much better for me than living in America. I miss my family. And America doesn't have ANY potatoes.
