    Meeting of the Estates General
    A meeting that was tried by King Louis XVI to represent members from the three Estates including: 300 people from the first Estate or Clergy, 300 people from the second Estate which were lords and nobles and 600 people from the third Estate or the Middle and low class. (Included lawyers)

    Voted to establish the National Assembly-leads to the Tennis Court Oath
    Comoners that were angry with the kings decision to make the voting in the Estates General by power and not by head, the people formed a group called the National Assembly and met independently. They were later joined by few nobles against the king and most members of the clergy.

    The Bastille held only seven inmates, but it was a symbol of royal authority in Paris. When it fell the French Revolution had officially begun, since the people could not take it anymore.

    The Viscount de Noailles and the Duke d'Aiguillon proposed the abolition of the feudal system in France with the National Assembly. At first the Clergy was reluctant until they finally agreed to lose their tithes and privileges of serfdom.

    This important event was inspired by the American Revolution and was made by Thomas Jefferson and General Lafayette. It is for the freedom and equality and impacted the world greatly as it covered topics from slavery to womens rights.

    After King Louis and his family attempted to escape as they dressed up as burgeois. They were caught in Varennes after being recognized in a previous town. The king was attempting a counter Revolution with the loyal troops to him.

    They made a new group called the Legislative Assembly mostly made of young people with no experience prior of the government but it included groups from the old Estates like nobles, clergy and middle class. As they decide to write a constitution and decide on a constitutional monarchy.

    They wanted war becaus ethey thought it would unite the people. They struggled at first the Republicans until they won a battle that turned France around that battle was the battle of Valmy.

    The National convention put an end to Monarchy aas they lived more freely before Napoleon took over even though France got separated.
