Canada discouraged immigration in 1885 and 1923, from China by requiring every Chinese immigrant to pay a head tax. Now in Canada and for more than 10 years , people from Asia have made up the largest group of immigrants to Canada. In 2006,Canada’s government apologized to Canada’s Chinese citizens for making them pay head tax. -
Komagata Maru Incident.

Satnam Singh came to Canada from India looking to be a refugee. The government rejected his case, the supreme court sad that it violated sectin 7 in the charter of rights and freedoms. -
