    Frederick Banting discovered one of the most important medical breakthroughs called Insulin. With his discovery, he helped all the vulnerable people with diabetes by giving them insulin. Frederick Banting, Charles Best and J.B. Collip helped treat diabetes in the late 1922s. In 1923, Frederick Banting and J.R.R. Macleod got the Nobel Prize for discovering insulin. Banting and Macleod shared their award money with Best and Collip.

The Five Cent Speech said that he wouldn't give any money who lost their jobs unless that province had a Liberal government. This speech, lead Mackenzie King out of the election and lead to a new Conservative Prime Minister R.B. Bennett.

    During World War 2, Canada arrested Italian people and sent them to camps under the War Measures Act. Mostly men were arrested but some of the men's families had to follow them and some of the men's positions were seized by the government. The arrests started on June 10 when Italy declared war on Canada so a total of 700 Italians were affected by the arrests.
