Mae Belle Sampson and Katherine MacDonald worked as nurses during WWI. They treated lots of soldiers and had a great impact on the war. Sadly Katherine MacDonald died when she was 25 years old by an airstrike.

"On August 4,1914 British declared war on Germany". Back then Canada was apart of the British Empire which therefore means that Canada was also going to be involved in WWI.

Leo Le Boutillier, Thomas-Louis Tremblay were french Canadian soldiers they were slacking in the beginning because they didn't know English but by the end they improved a lot.

During WWI Prime Minister Borden and Sam Hughes determined that Max Aitken would be the "Eye Witness" and he would tell the story of WWI. Max hired "100 workers painters, authors, photographers, and videographers to document the war".

Jeremiah Jones was a black Canadian soldier who served during WWI. He got awarded a medal for the this he did during the battle of Vimy Ridge. Him and his 15 other black Canadian soldiers who served in the military with him faced cruel discrimination.

When men were recruited to go to WWI. All of the factories were empty because men weren't there anymore. Because of that women had the opportunity to take over the men's jobs. Women got to show what they are capable of and how hard they can work.

The battle of Vimy Ridge was one of Canada's greatest victories. "The battle often mythologized symbol of the birth of Canadian national pride and awareness" more than 10 thousand people died because of this important battle.

On April 1,1914 a Prohibition was made. This meant that alcohol could not be made or served anywhere. "The Prohibition was set to help win WWI". This resulted in an increase of "bootleggers and crime-rates". People were making alcohol illegally.

On November 11,1918 WWI ended. "The allied powers took the victory". British was apart of the allied powers so that means that Canada also had a victory.

In 1927 the Prohibition ended. Now everyone could be able to make and server alcohol without doing it illegally.
