    Wealth of Nations- Laissez -faire
    Adam Smith published the Wealth of Nations, which is directed to the principles of Laissez-faire. Laissez-faire is the concept of "Let it be." This is where the government has no interactions with the public on their economic and third party organizations. The book touches upon the subject of a free market. This is an economic event becasuse it's the concept of free marketing and to lets things be as they are. It affects the way people make money and the economy. (economics).

    This Act was passed sometime in 1778, no one really knows the exact date, but was passed to Parliament would not and could not impose duty or tax on the raising of revenue.     The Constitution of the USA was written during the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1787. It's the supreme law of the land and consists of seven articles and the Bill of Rights. Later on, 17 extra amendments "changes" were made to the consitution. This is a political event because it's a supreme law that was passed by the important figues like Madison and Washington that make up and guide our country. (political)

    This is the meeting held by the National Assembly in a tennis court- after Louis XVI locked them out of their meeting room- in order to create a new constitution. The third estate vowed that they would not leave until they had created a new constitution and led to the name Tennis Couth Oath because of the location and promise the National Assembly made. This is a political event because it's used to create a new constitution and laws. (Political)

    Declaration of the Rights of Ma
    The Declaration of the Rights of Man was written to show the direct conflict that mistreatment of men and inequality was the cause of public calamities. The Declaration states that men are born free, equal, and remain equal. It was first passed by the National Assembly. It's a social event because it's directed toward the good of men during the French Revolution. (social)

    The Declaration of the Rights of Women was published as a contradiction to the Declaration of the Rights of Men.It was written to state the equality of women and that women are equal to men. They are neither inferior nor superior. This is a social event because it targets the rights of women during the French Revolution. Olympe de Gouges was later executed for this Declaration because it went against the ideas of the Revolution. (social)

    Vindication of the Rights of Women
    The Vindication of the Rights of Women was published in 1792- though the exact date is unknown- and is similar to the Declaration of the Rights of Women, except for the fact that the Vindication centers around education. The Vindication was written by Mary Wollstonecraft to adress the population during the Revolution that women shouldn't be deprived of education, but should be given it so they can rise higher and become better/stronger. This is a social event because it supports women. (social).

    Louis XVI execution
    On January 21, 1793 Louis the 16th gets guillotined. He was guillotined because the people wanted him out. Louis was a part of the cause of the revolution because: he led the country into bankruptcy by supplying the American revolution and excessive spending on his family, led a absolute monarchy while the people wanted a republic (locked the 3rd estate out and caused them to want to form a new government), and tried escaping to Austria when times got tough (social).

    The Reign of Terror ends in France when Jacobins member- Maximilien de Robespierre- goes under the guillotine. His death was significant because it led to people reuniting and experiencing fraternity. They couldn't experience fraternity during the Reign of Terror because of the fear of getting caught and guillotined like he did to 17,000 men. (Social)

    Louisiana Purchase
    On April 30, 1803, France sold the US 828,000 square miles of land west of the Mississippi River for $15 million dollars. This allowed for the US to grow twice in size. This is economic because the USA was able to give $15,000,000 to France to help them pay off their debt, while the USA was able to increase their size. (Economic)

    The 12th amedment passed on the 9 of December 1803 provides the procedure to choose the president and vice president of the USA. This amendment is political because it's a "law" that was proposed and supports the executive branch, which is part of politics. (political)

    This was a naval batte fought between the British and the French. Twenty seven British ships defeated thirty three French and Spanish ships. Napoleon lost this battle.This is military because it's a battle fought. (Military)

    Napoleon fights the Battle of Borodino against the Russians and after winning enters into Moscow a week later, only to find it in flames and ruined. This is a military event because it's a battle fought. (military)
  • Battle of Waterloo

    Battle of Waterloo
    June18, 1815, Napoloeon attacks the village of Waterloo in Belgium. It started off with the British holding firm of their grounds and then Prussia arrived and fought with the British against France. The French lost and this drew an end to Napoleon's power. This is military because it is a battle. (military)

    On May 1, 1848 the Factory Act of 1847 limited the number of hours women an children 13-18 could work. Origionally in 1847 the Act said a maximum of 63 hours a week. Then May 1 of the following year, the Act limited it to only 58 hours a week and kept it at 10 hours a day. This is political because it was an act passed to protect women and children. political)

This is technological because it allowed for an increase in goods and has evolved for over the past one hundred plus years. (technological)

    Abraham Lincoln issues the Emanicaption Proclamation January 1, 1863 as a result to declare slaves as free.The document was very unclear and stated the only states that had seceded from the Union would hold all slaves free, while all loyal to the Union would still continue with slavery. The document did not end slavery but it did give hope to Americans. This is a cultural event because of the impact that it had toward slavery as a whole and the involvment of a country fighting it ( cultural).
