Today was the first day of Preschool at Peabody Elementary. Students enjoyed their first day of school by meeting their teachers, peers and exploring their classrooms.

During the month of September, students started to explore with their first Messy Play Activity: Shaving Cream.

Our class made a Spooky Haunted House out of various shapes from recyclable boxes that they brought in from home. -
Our class won the door decorating contest for Red Ribbon Week. We celebrated with a doughnut and orange Juice party. Our theme was one of our favorite characters, Pete the Cat. Our class was rocking in our drug free shoes!

One of our wonderful community sponsors, The Gathering Church hosted a wonderful Trunk or Treat for our students. We had a great time dressing in costumes, playing games and of course trick or treating!

We learned so much this month about being thankful and the holiday, Thanksgiving! We ended our Thanksgiving Unit by watching: A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and eating popcorn, pretzels and jellybeans (just like they did in the movie).

We had so much fun performing at our Winter Program. Our class sang Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Christmas Tree.

Our students had so much fun celebrating their 100th day of school.

We started out our 100th Day by making hats that said: "I'm 100 Days Smarter!"

Students made fruit loop necklaces using their 100 fruit loop place mats. They also enjoyed a yummy treat when they finished.

Our class did some research on some famous African Americans. We learned how these important men and women made contributions to our society and invented many useful items.
Some of these great people included:Rosa Parks, Lewis Howard Latimer, Dr. Mae C. Jemison, George Washington Carver, Garrett Morgan, Harriet Tubman and Ruby Bridges to name a few. -
We had fun leaning and singing about Martin Luther King Jr. at our school wide Black History Program.

Students enjoyed reading and eating Green Eggs and Ham! Students predicted whether or not they would like green eggs and ham and then created a picture of their results.

We ended our Dr. Seuss Week by apple stamping. Students really enjoyed reading Ten Apples Up On Top by: Dr. Seuss
