My Great Grandparents fled to Canada because, even though they were very wealthy in Russia, they were prosecuted and all there money became worthless. They joined up with a group (unknown name) that were moving people to Canada.

The Emperor was forced to abdicate and the old regime was replaced by a provisional government during the first revolution of February 1917. This caused my Great Grandma and Great Grandpa to flee.

World War 2 was harsh on my Grandma at such a young age. It was because she was German, other kids in school would call her a "Nazi" and bully her.
