Indian Residential Schools Start
The Indian Act is now mended to include compulsory attendance for all Indians under 16, by 1930 there will be 80 Indian Residential Schools in Canada and all of these schools will be controlled by christians, Roman Catholics operating three-fifths of all Indian schools. The last Indian Residential School, in Canada, closed in 1996. -

Canadas New Flag
It was this year that Canada created its own identity, seperate from that of Britain and its colonies, this signified a new era in Canada. After often being confused by other countries for Britain Canada saw a chance to create a new flag, and that's when George Stanely, a professor at the Royal Military College, suggested a flag with red lines and a maple leaf. Later the idea was adopted and Canada was born anew under a new identity and flag . -
