  • Germinal period

    I am a little zygote, travelling slowly down my mom’s fallopian tube toward the uterus, begins to duplicate and multiply. Then, cells starts to differentiate.
  • Embryonic period

    I have eyes, nose, the digestive system growing. I weigh about 1 gram. I am tiny.
  • Fetal period

    My heartbeat gets stronger. I rely on the umbilical cord and placenta to live. I grow very fast! I can hear and feel my mom. I move a lot!
  • Birth

    I come out and see this world. I weight 6 pounds 8 ounces. I am crying very bad. I have a "belly button."
  • The first two years:Cognitive:

    I can say a word! It is baba! It is the first word I can say! My parent are so excited!
  • The First Two Years:Biosocial

    Today, I can stand up and walk! It is so excited! This world looks different! I weight 12kg with a height of 61cm. I drink my mom’s breastmilk! Yummy!
  • The First Two Years: Psychosocial

    I love my grandma she is taking care of me in most of the time because my parents have to work fulltime. So, I have developed a secure attachment with my grandma. I always look for her if she was not in front of me. Also, I love my mom and dad too because they always tell stories before I fall asleep.

    Today is my 3th birthday! I weight 12 kg with a height of 93 cm. My mom made a chocolate birthday cake for me. I love it!

    Jody is my neighbor. She is 5 months older than me. She grabs my favorite toy and does not want to play with me. I am very upset and we are in a fight! My mom comes in and solves the problem. She does not spank me. Instead, she tries to explain to us how to be nice to friends, how to share your toys with others, and how to become a better person. Finally, Jody and I are friends again. Thanks for my parents who make me want to become a better person!

    My family is proud of me because I become an elementary school student today! I start to learn Chinese, math, and science. I love school.

    My friends and I play hide and seek games today! I have a lot of fun! I hide in my mom’s closet covered with cloths. They can’t find me!

    I start to learn English! I can say some names of fruits: apple, banana, orange! It is my second language!

    Kate and I become good friends. We have lots of similar interests to share such as painting, singing, and dancing. Both of us are accepted by school chorus today! We will have more peers!

    I have my first menstrual period. My belly and my back feel sore. I feel scared although I have prepared its coming.

    I start to pay more attention to my dress and appearance. I feel everyone is looking at me if I walk on the street or in our classroom.

    I like Richard a lot. He is the smartest boy I have ever met. I am so excited that he sits next to me today!

    Today, I am a college student! I have made great efforts to get in one of top five universities in China! It is the first time I left my hometown and live on campus.

    It is my first time using make up and wearing high heels. I feel I am not a little girl anymore. My friends told me I look pretty.

    My poor memory bothers me. I met my college classmates today. I knew he looks familiar to me; however, I could not remember his name and how we knew each other. Finally, he figured it out.

    My husband and I celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary party today. I felt our wedding was just yesterday! I am really appreciated my husband and my family. Thanks for them being with me always. Thanks for my children and grandchildren bringing me happiness and good memories. Thanks for being in my life!

    I was sick for a while. I have a very hard time to breath. Also, my heart problem gets worse.

    I was informed by my doctor that I was really sick and my life expectancy is not long. I am afraid of death and am depressed. I hate to think that my husband and my kids have to watch me die. I am very sad.
