Lifetime Personal Health

  • Period: to

    Decade: 20s

While in my 20s, I will go a short morning run or jog everyday. I will reduce the amount of meat I consume, and will eat fish for its nutrients at least twice a week. I will go in for a check-up with my doctor at least every two years. I will make sure to take care of my mental health, as new or first jobs and the exiting of college can be quite stressful. Of course, I will NOT start my adult life as a smoker or excessive drinker.
  • Period: to

    Decade: 30s

While in my 30s, I will not let my job get in the way of continually exercising. I will make a goal to run or lift weights at least four times a week. I will eat fruit as a snack at work, and pack extra protein into my meals. I will get a routine check-up at least every two years, and get my teeth cleaned frequently. I will limit alcohol consumption to a minimum, and take good care of my emotional health.
  • Period: to

    Decade: 40s

While in my 40s, I will visit my doctor once a year, and watch for weight gain. I will continue to incorporate exercise into my daily routine, to avoid gaining excessive body fat. I will try to cut out empty calories, and eat fish and local, healthy meats. I will do yoga or meditate daily to calm my mental health, if needed. I will lift weights often to prevent the loss of muscle mass.
  • Period: to

    Decade: 50s

While in my 50s, I will take things slow, and not get too worked up with job and watch my mental health. (no mid-life crisis!) I will do yoga frequently to relax. I will exercise at least once per week, and watch my weight. Eating plenty of protein and eating enough fruits and vegetables is very important at this time of my life, so I will plan out my meals accordingly. I will see my doctor and dentist at least once a year to make sure my physical health is in good shape.
  • Period: to

    Decade: 60s

In my 60s, I will wind-down my work schedule, which should reduce any stress from my job. I hope to retire in my 60s, so I will take care of my body when I have the extra time off. Besides seeing my doctor frequently, I will whatever I can to reduce my now higher risk of a heart attack or pneumonia. I will walk or jog at least once a week, and watch my weight. I will maintain muscle mass by going to the gym from time to time.
