Joe Padgen born at Beaumont Hospital on Fathers Day. Son to Ed and Rose Padgen. Brother to oldest daughter Rachel and middle child Mike. Sister Rachel cries because I am not a girl.

Family leaves me at home with Grandma while they go to Disney. To this day I have never gone to disney and I make sure to remind my mother every chance I get.

Took my first steps.

Said my first word, up.

Stuck my hand in the Rabbit cage and got bit. First trip to the emergency room, needed three stitches.

Lost my Blue Bear in the peanut section of the grocery store. Cried for a day. Grandma takes me to get a new one and I take much better care of it. And yes I still have it!!

My mom says around age 4 I became very particular about my hair and clothes. Something that has stuck with me my whole life.

Meet my best friend Jeff. Still my friend 28 years later!

Mom lets me chose P.M. or A.M. kindergarden. I chose P.M. so I can still watch Sesame Street. I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Cookie Monster just yet.

Move into the house I will live in for 20 years!!!!

Attend first grade at St. Genevieve Elementary. Meet new people that i will spend the next 6 years of my life with.

Fell off my bike and was knocked out. Mom makes me start wearing a helmet. That lasted two weeks.

Make first commuinion. First time I meet my girlfriend. Won't meet again for 18 years even though are mothers are good friends and get together all the time.

First time I watched Karate Kid. I eventually become Obsessed and watch it all the time. Mom and Dad put me in Karate class.

Always liked hockey so my parents signed me up to play. I would play until my senior year of High School.

Saying goodbye to firends I've been with for 6 years.

First day at a new school. New people to meet.

Small Fish in a Big Pond

Got my first job at Stans Market I would stay there for years.

I got my first car and started skipping school. Grades went down.

My 3 best friends move away just before senior year.

A friend got me a job at Costco. I thought i would be there for a few months until I went to college. Little did I Know I would be there 11 years.

Graduating High School couldnt wait to be done.

First semester at Schoolcrfat. Didnt think I woud be in and out of there for 8 years.

Graduate University of Detroit Mercy with adegree in criminal justice.

I meet my girlfriend. Our mothers were friends for 25 years but we had only meet once.

Back to schoolcraft college to study nursing. Never thought I would go back to school.

Move into first apartment.

Me and my girlfriend buy our first house.

We get our first puppy. Immediate new best friend!

First day of nursing program at University of Detroit Mercy.

Graduate nursing school and get a job at a hospital.

Marry my longtime girlfriend. The best friend I could ask for; glad she puts up with me.

Back to schooll for masters!

No more school!

Move to a warmer climate, maybe South Carolina

I would like a big boat that I can take on long trips.

Tough to think about but my parents will probably die around this time.

I will probably work until im 65 years old.

Move with wife into retirement village because we have no kids to take care of us.

Hopefully I go as painless as possible and before my wife. I figure 85 is a good age.
