    Great Depression was a stock market crash that left millions of Canadians unemployed, hungry, and homeless. The whole world was affected but Canada was hit the hardest because of its economic position.

    The Dust Bowl was a period of dust storms that damaged farms. The Dust Bowl forced thousands of farmers to abandon their farms because of them not being able to grow anything and couldn't make money.
  • On-to-Ottawa Trek

    On-to-Ottawa Trek
    The on-to-Ottawa Trek was a long journey for one thousand unemployed men that were protesting against the bad conditions in federal relief camps. The men lived and worked at the relief camps for a minimum of 20 cents per day.
  • BCATP

    BCATP
    British Commonwealth Air Training Plan was a military aircrew training program created by the United Kingdom and Canada. Located in Canada the point was the train aircrews for WW2. More than 130,000 crewmen and women were trained between 1939 and 1945.
  • Camp X

    Camp X
    Camp X was made for the purpose of linking Britain and the United States. It was built on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario between Whitby and Oshawa in Ontario. Before the attack on Pearl Harbor, Camp X opened for the purpose of training allied agents from Special Operations Executive.

    The attack on Hong Kong was devastating for the Canadian defenders who had spent the two weeks defending against impossible odds. The attack was because of Japan not declaring war against the British Empire.
  • Dieppe Raid

    Dieppe Raid
    During WW2 4963 Canadians, and around 1000 British troops a launched a raid on the French coast of Dieppe. The purpose was to make a successful raid on German occupied Europe, and to hold Dieppe. The raid was very unsuccessful. Many dead, injured and captured.
  • D-Day Juno Beach

    D-Day Juno Beach
    The invasion of Nazi occupied Europe began with allied armies from U.S Britain and Canada. They landed on the coast of Normady, and the 3rd Canadian Infantry division landed on Juno Beach. Canadian Soldiers raced across the beach while facing German machine gun fire and minded beach obstacles.
