"Pease and friendship" treaties were signed in a effort to"share the land peasefully", to encorge trade and be nice to eachother. -

The american revolution was crazy. The already fourmed 13 colonies rejected the birtish monarchy and over through great britan. Then formed there own country called the united states. It lasted till 1783. -

Around the 1800's the treaties being made up were ment more to benifit great britan rather then be far to everyone. They were giving the first nations peoples less rights and slowly taking away more and more land, in a effort to have more power. -

The war of 1812 was faught between the united states and Quebec NewFrance. It all started because New France did not wanna team up with the usa, so the usa got all upset about it and tried taking over whats now known as canada. It did not work out as planned, on there way up to canada to take it over most of there people died. It lasted 3 years. -
potato famine
In ireland in 1040's there was a potato famine, lots of people were starving. So there loader up ships of sick and starving people and sent them to "Grosse-Lsle quarantine station". Then if the people got better and were healthy they would be aliud to go to Canada. -

The canadian government started bring lots of chinese people to Canada to work on the rail road, mostly on the dangerious parts that Canadain people would not want to work on. This was a pretty rude thing to do, they used the people like disposible workers. This whole railroad ordeal lasted 5 years. -
immigrants
from 1880 to 1914 thousands and thousands of immigrants were coming into canada from all over the place. Lots came from Great britan, continental europe and east asia. They were giving people free land and equipment to get there homesteads started. -
Chinese Head tax
The chinese head tax started out in 1885. It was a tax put in place so if chinese people wanted to enter canada they had to pay $50. By 1903 the tax was up to $500. -
Louis Riel was killed
Louis riel was captured, then get get hung on november, 16, 1885 because of the "teason" he was accused of commiting. He was trying to fight the Canadian government because he wanted this piece of land to become a provice and be apart of canads for the first nations peoples. -
The under ground railroad
The underground rail road was a route of secret sucure hourses and paths to canada from the u.s.a. for slaves. Harriet Tubman started and was in charge of the underground rail road she ran the whole thing. One slaves got in to canada they were welcomed and takin care of. Then of corse after a while canada got sick of them and did not want to comeing to Canada or being in Canada -
Canadian citizen
