Question 5: How Did You Attract/Address Your Audience?

  • Mise-en-scene

    Mise-en-scene
The mise-en-scene within the magazine attracts and addresses the audience as within my survey I questioned the colours needed within the magazine and incorperated that into the cover, contents and double page spread. I used these colours also in the clothes the model wears.
  • Contents

    Contents
Within the contents page I used the same house colours as the front cover to convey the theme of the magazine further.
I have also used another competiton to go away to LA I have done this as LA is known for having a lot of famous people visit and is a great hotspot for teenagers/students to go. It's a disirable place which lots of people can only dream to go to. This connects to students and allows them to have a chance to go and experience that type of life.
  • Double Page

    Double Page
For this double page spread I think it's appealing to the audience as it is not crowded and cluttered. The space is open and the colours are still set in the house colours. The font used for the title is the same font I used for the masthead. I think this font isn't too formal and links in well with the theme along with the target audience. The informality of it links to teenagers and the youthfulness the magazine holds.
  • Audience feedback influences

The feedback from my survey allowed me to choose appropriate colours and fashion ideas - along with poses and context - to include within my magazine to help connect with the audience.
I asked about the colours people would associate with the indie culture and that was were the house colour of dark, faded colours came in. This is also why I had black and white images including faded colours.
