    John Cabot was sailing to Asia for the spices that Britain had heard of but on his way to Asia he crashed in to a land that was rich in fishing and hunting grounds.

    When french explorer/map maker Samuel de Champlain tried to sail to Asia for the spices he ended up sailing down a river we now today as the St. Lawrence river and mapped out his root

    When Samuel de Champlain sailed down the st. Lawrence river he ended up in a new land he claimed for France it was soon to be named New France or Quebec
