In his speech, he told the delegates that the United Nations had become ¨frozen in futility and divided by dissension¨ and that a new collective security body was needed.

    Richard Valliéres´s plan to make millions of dollars was simple: secretly drain the province of Quebec´s maple syrup reserve and then sell the product. but they fell short after the police were tipped off and his accomplices landed in jail. Nearly 3,000 tons of maple syrup valued at $18.7 million was stolen and replaced with water. About 9,571 barrels of maple syrup were emptied. The thieves used trucks to transport barrels to a remote sugar shack.
