It was the deadliest event in history and had the worst events like the Holocaust and the worst types of weapons like the nuclear bombs, which destroyed huge areas of land.

    The Korean war was a war between North Korea who were supported by China and the Soviet Union and South Korea who were supported by the US and the United Nations who Canada also supported. The war began when North Korea invaded the land of South Korea and was followed by many other clashes.

    The cuban missile crisis was a confrontation between the US and the Soviet Union which was the closest to escalate the cold war to a nuclear war between the two. The Soviet Union agreed to send missiles to Cuba, but the US established a blockade to stop missiles from reaching Cuba. An agreement was made to send all missiles back to the Soviet Union and to dismantle all missiles in exchange that the US avoids invading Cuba.

    In 1964 the parliament voted on changing the flag's design. The flag was officially changed in 1965.

    Terry fox was an athlete who wanted to run across Canada to raise awareness and money for cancer research. The spread of cancer in his body led him to stop running after running nearly a marathon everyday for 143 days. His legacy stands as a Canadian hero as his charity raised over $750 million under his name towards cancer research.

    Constitution is patriated
    In 1982 Canada patriated its constitution, transferring the countries highest law the "British North America Act" from the british parliament. It also updated the constitution by adding the Charter of Rights.
