    Canada signed the treaty as a independent country and not as apart of Britain

    Canada was an independent member of the League of Nations

    The first treaty independently negotiated and signed by the Canadian government. This proved that Canadian government was actually capable of doing things without the help of the British

  • Imperial Conference

    Canada got recognition as a self-governing country

  • King-Byng Crisis

    The prime minister at the time told the Governor General to do a fresh election and the Governor General said no and then they had an election that the Prime minister won

  • Balfour Report

    A report that declared all of Britain's dominions were equals with each other

  • Statute of Westminster

    A British law that declared clarifying the powers of Canada's Parliament and those of the other Commonwealth Dominions.

    Canada also did not fall in line with Britain's wishes and stood for itself and its people
