    Estates General Convened by King
    The first meeting since 1614 of the french estates general. This was propose by the king to establish a solution to the government problems. The king was the only one who could call for this meeting. Since the country was in debt, the top two estates wanted to come up with new ways to earn some money. The Solution was to tax the third estate. The people of the third estate refused to pay any extra taxes, so they decided to revolt.

    The people of the 3rd estate were coming together for a meeting to talk about the reforms. This was the prime minister, Necker's idea. They took an oath to create a fairly written constitution for their country. During this Oath, the nobles swore to stick together through thick and thin, no matter what the circumstances may be.

    The begining of the French revolution and the downfall of Louis XVI. Bastille was a prison that represented a symbol of the King's abosolute power. The nobles went to Bastille and found weapons. There were guards guarding the prison. A battle broke out between the guards and the revolutionaries. Eventually the prison watchers joined sides with the revolutionaries. This day is also a symbol for france, it was when the red, white and blue cocard was crowned.

    The National Assembly abolished feudalism in the August Decrees. This swept away the " seigneurial" rights of the 1st and second estate.

    This was a document, that stated that Humans have the rights to enjoy their natural, God given rights. But not including women or Slaves. This was passed by the " National Assembly".

    A crowd of women and some men marched in the rain towards versailles,demand to see the "Baker" his wife and his family. The king agreed to give out all the bread in versailles to the crowd. Some of the crowd got into the queens room, and she escaped through a secret passage way to the king's room. The king adressed the crowd from his balcony, saying "I will go to Paris with my wife and my children".That didnt work because the crowd still took him out,that was the King's last word in Versailles.

    The society of the friends of the blacks was a group of french men and women, mostly white, who were abolitionists. In february 1790, the National Assembly legislated the Universal Emancipation decree, Which effectively freed all colonial slaves.

    This was to abolish tittles of nobility, such as "Prince" "Duke" ect. They were all to be called by the names of their family. This was The National Assembly's way of creating equality.

    This lasted from September 1791 all the way to September 1792. The Begining of the first republic. The king no longer held all of the power. He had to share it with the Legislative Assembly, but he could still vote and elect a minister.

    A mob forced Louis XVI to go to prison, him and his family. He tried to escape, but they found hime later on, and brought him back to trial for crimes against the people.

    When the french monarchy fell. A mob was coming after the king in the Palace, so he moved to the Legislative Assembly Building. Then they cought him later on and trialed him.

    Created by the National Convention in 1793. This was to defend the nation's against enemies. There was nine people in the convention. This committee became the center of power in the country. Robespierre started a dictatorship. He created 14 armies to proctect the country.

    Napoleon became the dictator of France, even though he wasn't a french, he was born in Corsia. He worked with Emmanuel Sieyes to take over the directory. The directory turned into 3 consulate, and Napoleon was the 1st. Napoleon re-organized the army, and he made them stronger then they were.

    He was now the emperor of France. He crowned himself. " He was the greatest military genious of his time", his empire was made up of mostly the west and central Europe.
