    The Estates General
    • There were representatives from each estate: The clergy, Nobility and third.
    • King Louis XVI needed assistance about the decision of how they're going to get France out of debt.
    • The third estate decides they have had enough and want more of a say in their government. They call themselves the National Assembly and people from the other estates join.
  • Storming of Bastille

    Storming of Bastille
    • Paris, France July 14.
    • Revolutionaries from the Third Estate broke into the prison.
    • 98 attackers and one defendant died in the battle.
  • March On Versailles

    -Thousands of women marched 12 miles from Paris to demand bread for their children
    - Invasion results in killing of guards and forced return of king and family to Paris.

    • The convention kills King Louis XVI under the charge of treason
    • Maximilien Robespierre took control
  • The King and Queen attempt to escape

    • Marie Antoinette and King Louis XVI attempt to escape France because of the government issues. However they get caught because King Louis' face was on the money.
  • Napoleon

    • Led France into a 15 year military rule
    • Napoleon was making positive progress in FRance
    • After the French invasion of Russia in 1812, he got exiled to the island of Elba in 1815.
