French Revolution

  • The Three Estates.

    The three estates were three classes of people the First estate was the clergy, the second estate was the nobles, and the third was the rest of the people in France.
  • Growing Population

    When the population grew the prices for food went up and families needed more money so their kids and they didn't have it. They didn't have the money because the prices were going up faster than the wages were.
  • Financial Crisis

    The old King put France in debt then was handed to the next King who doesn't know how to fix it.
  • The Estates General

    The estates general was called to help with the estates and how the first and second estates could get together and always go against the third estate.
  • Taking over the Bastille

    The people thought that the king was going to move them out by force so the people took over the Bastille.
  • Government Reform

    There was people who tried to reform the government and some wanted to get rid of the king. Others wanted to have the king but he had limited power, and the final group had to decide with one of the groups.
  • The constitution of 1791

    This is when the National assembly finished a constitution that said that the king will still be there but with limited authority. There would also be three branches, Judicial, Executive, and Legislative.
  • End of the Monarchy

    This is when the king was overthrown because people thought that he had foreign powers to ruin the constitution of 1791.
