    in july 1778 Comptoller-General Lomiene de Brienne asked the parlement du paris to register the tax on property of all three estates. The parlement refused and France was in a year of intense conflicts between the royal government and the parlements. soon after Louis XVI gave into the demands of the nobility and issued a calling of a estates calling in 1789.

    there was a disagreement amongst the three estates about the voting methods in estate general. The third estate wished to have a "vote by head" while the second and first wanted estate wanted to "vote by bloc" which was 1 vote per estate.

The mobbed attacked the bastille and released the seven prisoners inside.
