    In the past, kings would spend more money then they had coming in. That caused for the future kings to have problems with money. Another thing that didn't help was that the peasants would pay the taxes when they barely had the money. things were getting so bad that they had to start raising the price of food and that was bad because most people couldn't afford to feed their families so they got mad. And that started riots
  • The Great Fear

    The Great Fear
    The great fear started and many people were upset. The great fear wasn't as big as the french revolution at all, but it was still something important that happened. They had troops going around destroying villages and food. That made people mad so that started a riot. The riot brought attention to people, to they had a national assembly to try and solve the problems that were caused.

    It all started out with the estates general. The king decided to get representatives of the estates together. They need to start solving problems, so they were writing down the stuff going wrong. They voted, and they got a solution. The third estate lost. So that caused the third estate to leave and set up a "government, The Tennis Court Oath

    They needed a new way to kill people. A way that was more fair and quicker. so they invented the guillotine. This way, they could kill people quicker, make it less painful, and more people. It was "they new toy of the revolution" and people were scared. It also started a new period of the revolution, the reign of terror, and people got tired of it quick.

    Storming the Bastille
    People of Paris were not happy with King Louis XVI because he was planning on sending troops to paris to attack. So, that caused a riot. During the riot they started to storm the bastille. The bastille was basically a prison for people that the king didn't like, and was a symbol of authority and abuse. Since the bastille was so important, that didn't make the king very happy.
