    a meeting of the estates general was moved and they were afraid that the king would take advantage of his power and keep the laws his way so the Third Estate would continue to suffer

    A result of the growing discontent of the Third Estate. A meeting of all the estates was called, to discuss reforms. When the third Estate showed up, the doors were locked against them so they went to a near by tennis court instead.

    The National Assembly created a set of rules that all people got natural and unalienable rights of man, no matter what estate they belonged too. No one was to be disrespected or treated unequally.

    Thousands of women got together to march for bread and to lower bread prices. Men screamed at the women to march, and more and more women joined in sand demanded bread. When they arrived in Versailles, The King was scared and didn't know how to retaliate so he gave them bread, but with consequences.

    Royal family fled from Paris hoping to reach the Luxenbourg border, but got caught and brought back to Paris. No punishment was recieved and the King's position was confirmed.

    Brunswick Manifesto
    Prussian forces began their drive toward Paris, their commander, the Duke of Brunswick, demanded that Paris back off and threatened to level the city if they didn't or if it harmed the royal family.When Louis XVI published this Brunswick Manifesto, it seemed the final proof that he was in league with the enemy. This threat drove the revolutionaries to take further action.

    Storming of the Tuileries Palace
    A mob of 30000 advanced toward the palace in order to capture Louis XVI. Word got back to the King, so he escaped to the Legislative Assembly building, and when the mob arrived at the palace, the guards had no order to protect it, so they surrendered the palace to the peasants.

    Revolutionary Gov't voted to abolish the monarchy and establish the first Republic. The royal family was imprisoned and a new government was in the making by the revolutionaries.

    The king was executed by being brought to the guillotine. The peasants were raging and fed up at that point with his constant spending of money and his refusals to change the laws for his people

    Robespierre was arrested and executed for being the one who began the terror in France and creating new laws involving inflicting terror to the society. one he was executed, the last drop of terror inflicting blood was dropped.

    This convention drafted constitutions in France and held executive power. Five directors were involved. It dissolved itself and was replaced by a bicameral legislature.

    Napoleon wanted to overthrow the Directory and created a three member consulate. He reorgainized armies and restructured. He constructed the famous march across the Alps.
