It is not proven fact but many doctors and scientist believe that a fetus can hear the mothers voice and reacts to it. Doctors have seen the fetal heart beat rise when a mother speaks as if they are responding to it and it can also explain why a mothers voice is so soothing to an infant because of an emotional attachment to the sound. Around 24 weeks is when they estimate a mothers voice can be heard clearly by the fetus so around this time for me. (psychosocial)

While going through post partum depression along wtih many other medical issues at the time my husband informed me he had another child only 6 months older than our son who he had been seeing the whole time as well as the childs mother. The miracle pregnancy was filled with many physical obsticles to over come and at 28 weeks I ended up in the hospital for a week and a half due to preterm labor.
