The Mob thought that there was gunpowder in the Bastille, and when they wanted to go in the commander of the Bastille wouldn't let them, he opened fire on the mob. The Mob eventually killed the commander and 5 guards. The fall of the Bastille was a wake up call to Louis XVI.

Robespierre was going mad and he was responsible for many peoples executions. He made himself godlike at one point and the people didnt like that at all, so they finally executed him with the guilottine.
