The Seven Year War was a regional dispute between Britain and France that grew into a global conflict. The war affected Canada's future by causing need for the Treaty of Paris. It was an important part in Canada's history because it helped start the path to create modern Canada. -
The Treaty of Paris ended the Seven Year War. It stated that France would give up its territories to the British. The Treaty was the end of the war for North America which was now under British control. This created a more stable government system allowing Canada to grow and modernize. -
The Constitutional Act of 1791 divided the province of Quebec in two parts, Upper and Lower Canada, and was one of the first steps to confederation. This act helped shape Canada in two ways: firstly women in lower Canada who owned property were given the right to vote, and secondly confederation started blooming from this act. -

This treaty marked an important place in the relationship between the British and US. It was a breath of fresh air and a bit of a new start after all their hatred and violence towards each other. The treaty helped shape Canada by introducing a turning point in this relationship which lasted till present. -
The Upper and Lower Canada Rebellions were disputes against the crown due to civilians being unhappy with the political decisions they were making. These rebellions helped form future nationhood and stable government. -
The Act of Union came after the Durham report which came after the Upper and Lower Rebellions. It created the province of Canada by unifying Lower and Upper Canada, and in turn it created a stable, more honorable government, helping shape the new Canada. -
Confederation was the unification between the British North American Colonies creating the Dominion of Canada. The Charlottetown conference was when the Fathers of Confederation came together to discuss the terms. Confederation gave Canada power through unity, and an easier way to handle their economy and government. This has greatly affected Canada; to this day our military power is stronger, companies flourish more easily and most of all we have developed our own identity. -
The Battle of Vimy Ridge was a United Kingdom and German conflict where the Canadians were aiding UK. This battle during the first world war was the most celebrated Canadian military victory. It helped give Canada confidence and pride as a nation. -
The Treaty of Versailles was the peace terms made with Germany during the first world war after they had surrendered. This agreement ended the war and once again helped retain peace. During the making of the treaty Canada had their own separate representation from the British, taking one more step to being a independent nation, forming there own identity.
