(WHO) Farmers in the (WHERE) western prairies were very successful until the depression hit (WHEN) in 1929. (WHAT) Farms during the great depression endured, from droughts to the grasshopper plague. It affected the production of crops and food became scarce. Also, the prices for wheat dropped because countries that Canada exported put heavy taxes. And the price didn't get better so Canada had enough wheat to suffice. (WHY) It happened because of the stock-market crash of the great depression.
-
This is Continuity because farmers around the world since the beginning of time have suffered and endured countless or misfortunes (droughts, insect plagues of some kind, etc...) and still persevere to this day. Something bad always happens to farmers no matter if it's a matter of the people (economy) or nature. So this is definitely a continuity. (CONTINUITY)

Women back then were usually not paid that much and worked under certain distaining conditions. But now they can make a lot more money and work in top-tier conditions. (CHANGE)
-
(WHEN) From 1930 to 1940, (WHERE) Canada held exponentially high numbers for employed women. (WHEN) In 1940, (WHO) German-Canadians (WHAT & WHY) were interned in their own home since Canada was at war with Germany, German-Canadians were considered enemy aliens and were interned. The population of interned Germans also included Prisoners of War. The number of Prisoners of War in custody increased as the war progressed. German internment was the only group that included military personnel. (WHERE) This happened all across Canada. -
This is definitely change because Canada today is known to be one of the most diverse countries in the world. Discrimination has dropped severely and you see many minority groups/communities able to express themselves and their freedom in public and online. Canada has improved a lot since the war. Also would like to point out Trudeau did take in millions of Syrian refugees as well. This country turned and changed for the better. (CHANGE)
-
This is continuity because now women are able to work and serve in the military today. They can be in any unit they wish to train for. (CONTINUITY)
-
(WHAT & WHY)Many Canadian women wanted to play an active role in the war to serve their country and lobbied the government to form military organizations for women. (WHEN) In 1941-42, the military was forever changed as it created its own women's forces. (WHERE) The decision made at the RCAF HQ. (WHO) Women were now able, for the first time in our history, to serve Canada in uniform. More than 50,000 women served in the armed forces during the Second World War. -
This is definitely change. This is because We Canadians no longer have any kind of beef with the Japanese or anyone really. Japanese people are welcomed here a lot and Japanese culture has gotten to us (anime, katanas, oni's, etc...) and we now live in harmony. (CHANGE)
-
On 7 December 1941, (WHY) Japan attacks Pearl Harbor and Hong Kong, where Canadian troops were stationed. (WHEN) Beginning in early 1942, (WHO & WHAT) the Canadian government detained and dispossessed more than 90 percent of Japanese Canadians, some 21,000 people, (WHERE) living in British Columbia. They were detained under the War Measures Act and were interned for the rest of the Second World War. Their homes and businesses were sold by the government to pay for their detention. -
(WHO) Farmers in Canada prospered again after the great depression. (WHAT) The Ottawa Federal Government made “Agricultural Supplies Board” to meet food needs in Canada. They soon combined forces with the “Allied Combined Food Board” made by USA (WHY) to send food overseas to Britain in order to fight Germany.
-
This is continuity because farmers have been a big part of many things especially war. They are the sources of all food products and they always give their goods to people in their own country and in the military (rations). (CONTINUITY)
