Egypt forces attacked from the east, and Syria attacked through the Golan Heights. On October 22 the UN adopted a resolution stating cease fire. The hostiles continued to fight for another 4 days. -

The Peace treaty between Egypt and Israel, Carter, Anwar Sadat, and Prime Minister Begin was there to settle the arguments between Israel and Egypt. This was over the Sinai peninsula It was signed in September 1978. This lead to the forming Egypt- Israel Peace treaty. -

Honsi Mubarak comes to power
He had been a command hero of the 1973 war against Israel when he shed the epaulets of Air Chief Marshal to serve as vice president to Anwar Sadat. Thus when Anwar Sadat was assassinated he rose to power and became president/ dictator of Egypt.
