-1 This was Canada's first major battle. they were outnumbered and around 6,000 lost their lives due to gas bombs. Somehow after all of that, they still seemed to win.

+2 women got the right to finally vote. The reason why we were initially got the right to vote was that the guys would be out helping with the war and since they didn't have anyone to really vote they had the women do the voting.

-2 On December 6, 1917, a French cargo ship that had explosives in it crashed in the harbor in Nova Scotia, Halifax. this boat then exploded and killed over 100 and injured over 100 people due to this incident.

+2 On November 11, 1918, Germany finally surrendered and an armistice was signed. Thankfully Canada didn't have to fund the war anymore because the government was in debt already. To this day its own remembrance day.

-2 On January 21, 1920, the residential schools were made mandatory for aboriginal children can forcefully get rid of their old habits and to starts adapting to Euro-Canadian habits. Sadly when these children would go to these schools they would get tortured if they practiced old traditions, and spoke their native language.

+2 Agnes was elected to the parliament, she wanted to support many social justice issues and by doing so by taking a place in the parliament. this helped in progress with Canada because she actually inspired many Women in Canada to speak out and finally have a voice that's heard.

+1 In 1921 the final Canadian flag colors were determined. the white represents the french flag and the red represents the British flag. This is of major significance because the flag represents our nation.

+2 After the war, Britain decided to have some troops stay in Turkey, and because of that, the Turks decided to attack them. Since they were under attack they asked Canada to come and help them, but since Canada was trying to become a more independent country prime minister MackenzieKing declined.

-2 During the great depression, it had left many Canadians homeless, hungry, unemployed. The unemployment rate was up to 30% which is basically 1 in 5 Canadians depending on the government for money and survival. sadly those lasted for 6 years straight.
