The Great depression hit farmers hard across Canada and a lot of the Farmers were forced to close their farms due to the economy crashing and the farmers not being able to afford there farms. The location of this was in Canada mainly the drier and flatter land. This was all happening in the early 1930’s. During the Great Depression in Canada the economy completely crashed leaving hundreds of thousands of farmers un-employed and not having a roof over their heads. -
This is an example of change because nothing like this had ever happened in Canadian history and no one knew what to do or what was going on, this was definitely a decline for the Canadian farmers and this would be hard to recover from. -
As I was saying before I think the Canadian drought in 1930 is a mix of continuity and change, the change is the severity of the drought as well as the sand dunes and massive dust storms. This was definitely a very hard time for the farmers and was a decline for the Canadian Farmers overall. -
This Canadian drought completely wiped out Canadian farms leaving many farmers unemployed and in need of a job. With these droughts sand dunes were created damaging the farms and putting the farmers own lives in danger. This Canadian drought started in 1930. This major drought was caused by extreme dry temperatures and very dry land. I think in this case this was a mix or continuity and change because Canada was used to having droughts in the past but this drought was much more serious. -
The Canadian workers were greatly affected by the great depression. Millions of Canadian workers were unemployed, starving and even homeless in the peak of the great depression. This was taking place all across Canada but the prairies and western Canada were hit the hardest with all of this. Workers were unemployed and struggling starting in the early 1930s. All of this that was happening across Canada was because of the great depression causing the economy to crash completely. -
I think this was definitely change for the Canadian workers. Like I mentioned before around 1 million Canadian workers were out of work and had no job affecting them as well as there families. This was for sure a decline for the Canadian workers. -
During the great depression actually more women went to work even though what they were doing at work was called “woman's work”. They were not working in proper working conditions and were getting paid poorly for the work they were putting in. A main job for women during these times we're working on sewing machines. On top of all of this many married women were working and getting paid for the first time. -
This was happening across Canada and during the 1930’s. This was because women in the workforce were doing things such as working as nurses, school teachers, maids ect typically it was only women doing this.
I think this was definitely a change for the Canadian women because finally they were given job opportunities with pay even though the working conditions weren't great and the pay was awful. overall I think this was a mix of decline and progress for the Canadian woman group. -
I think this was continuity for the Canadian workers because in WW1 they were also used to help out during the war providing many Canadians with jobs. I think this was progress for the Canadian workers because so many of the workers had no job and no way to make money so this at least provided them with a job and they were able to help out in the war. -
During WW2 116 000 Canadian workers were provided with employment to work as aircraft manufacturers, farmers, communicators ,food processors etc. WW2 involving Canada began September 1st 1939 giving workers some jobs. The Canadian workers were willing to travel anywhere to get a job especially because due to the Great depression so many workers were unemployed so with all of the help Canada needed with the war lots of Canadians were given jobs to help out. -
This was definitely a change for woman having a secure job during WWII and this would benefit them positively. This was progress for the Canadian Women and a huge turning point in Canadian history. -
At this time women were helping during the home front and their lives were about to change forever, women were expected to do their part and contribute during WWII. Some of these jobs included cafe workers, sciences, shipbuilders ect. This was happening across Canada. The home front took place in 1941. This happened because the woman needed to do something when all the men soldiers were off fighting in WWII this way woman could help by contributing supplies etc.
