    Cartier trades with Mi'kmaq

    Jacques Cartier traded with the Mi'kmaq tribe.He giaves Canada its name mistaking thier word kana:ta' for the whole land.
  • French traders

    French traders set up a trading post in what is now Quebec to exploit the fur trade more effectively.Then Britain got involved.The English and the French both wanted control of the trade.The British backed the Iroquois,while France backed the Huron.The groups of traders were getting very competitive.People were getting kidnapped,even murdered.
  • Hudson's Bay Company

    The Hudson's Bay Company monopoly is confirmed by the British parliament because beaver pelt hats were in fashion and they could get the beaver pelt,then sendit to Europe.
  • Seven Years War

    The Seven Years War ends. New France loses to Britain.

    The Northwest Company is formed.

    Canada didn't have the power to change its own constitution so the costitution act was part of Canada patriating the constitution.It states which powers belong to which part of the government.Its important to have a constitution so that there wouldn't be chaos.
