Residential school
If you were a First Nations child between the age 7-15, it’s mandatory to go to the residential school. And the school was such a cruel place, where you had to speak English, and do what they told you to do. If you didn’t do it, then you will be punished. -2 This really showed that the 1920s didn’t roar, because of how negatively the First Nations were treated by Canadians. -
The battle of Ypres
In this battle, 6000 soldiers were captured, wounded, killed. This is Canada’s first major battle.

Spanish Influenza epidemic
The Spanish Influenza Epidemic had a huge impact on the world. Killing 30 million people, including about 50000 Canadians. -1 Canada did not roar because so many people died in this epidemic, the Canadian economy has also been affected by the epidemic. -
The Winnipeg general Strike
The Winnipeg general strike occurred between 1919 May 15-June 25. It is the largest strike in the Canadian history. More than 30000 workers went on this strike. Workers have very low wages but were still forced to pay the same tax. This led to a huge strike because many workers were not being paid at all.

Prohibitions
During the 1920s, there were so many prohibitions, there were pros and cons. Such as in the 1920s, Canadians believed that most of the crimes that were happening is because of alcohol. So people started voting against it. But on the other hand, the government prohibited Chinese immigrants, even though they helped Canada build railways. 0 -
Workers
During the 1920s, many workers went on strike because of huge pay cuts. Workers were upset because they were starving and some of them lost their job due to striking.

Women's rights
Canada was roaring because women had more rights and responsibilities, they were trying to fight for the rights that used to be men only. The government also granted women suffrage.

Chinese immigrants
Canada was in a period of decline because each Chinese was taxed extra if they wanted to live in Canada. Even though Chinese people helped Canada build the Pacific railways. After they were done the citizens of Canada asked the government to expel all the Chinese people. In 1923 the government did pass a law that prohibited Chinese immigrants. -2 -
Clothing
There was a huge change in the way of dressing, as women began to gain rights, they started wearing more revealing and comfortable clothing, such as short skirts and pants. And men started wearing more athletic clothing.

Canada's auto mobile
Many people began to use new technologies such as automobiles and telephones. In the 1920s, there were over 1 million cars in Canada. Canada was the world's second-largest producer of cars, after the United states. In 1920, the cost of that reduced to $260, (about $3500 now). As a result, most families could afford to purchase a car.
