June 26 1945 - U.N Charter
After WWII ended Canada and 50 other countries signed the U.N charter as founding members. -
December 10 1948 - Universal Declaration of Human Rights
The United Nation, Canada is included, signed this declaration telling every persons right as a human globally. -
April 4 1949 - North Atlantic Treaty Organization
The treaty is created in fear of the cold war and russians. Treaty includes Canada, the U.S., United Kingdom, and countries of northwestern Europe. -
June 25 1950 - Korean War
Canada being part of the U.N, Assisted in the Korean war hen North Korea invaded South Korea -
January 1 1977 - No Fishing Zone
Canada establishes a 200 miles fish zone protection off each coast of Canada. -
April 17 1982 - Constitution Act
Queen Elizabeth II signed the proclamation of the constitution act, which brought with it the Canadian charter of rights and freedoms. -
January 16 1991 - Gulf War
Canada sent troops to Iraq to help the U.S fight the gulf war. -
December 11 1997 - Kyoto Accord
Canada signed the Kyoto accord to reduce greenhouse emission for climate control. -
October 7 2001 - Opperation Apollo
Canada announced that it was prepared to contribute sea, land and air forces to America’s Operation Enduring Freedom. On the same day as the United State began their operation against Al-Qaeda and the Taliban.The operation ended in 2014. -
January 1 2005 - Tsunami Hit
Canada helps south east asian countries after tsunami hits them leaving them in wreckage.
