There was a huge wave of First Nation People that came to Alberta and Saskatchewan from 1864 to 1914. They came to Canada becuase they were giving away free homesteads of 160 acres to new settlers. At the time they just built the Canadian Pacific Railway. -

There was a huge wave of People from around the world that came to everywhere in Canada from 1919 to 1962. They came to Canada because of Wold War ll. World War ll made it difficult for people to migrate freely frm a country to another. -

There was a huge wave of Carribian, Latin America, Africe and Asia people came all over Canada from 1970 to the present time.They all immigrated here because of better job oppurtunities. Refuges made up 25% of all immigrants to Canada.
