    The Battle of Ypres
    The Battle of Ypres took place between April 22nd 1915 to May 25th 1915. One of the major battles fought by Canadian soldiers, the battle took place outside of the town Ypres in Belgium on the Western Front. The battle was fought between the Canadians and Germans, The Germans layed out a large scale gas attack which forced the Canadians to hold their position until reinforcements arrived. A total of 6,500 Canadians were killed during the battle.
  • Battle Of Vimy Ridge

    Battle Of Vimy Ridge
    The Battle of Vimy Ridge took place between April 9th and April 12th 1917.The battle took place on the western front in Northern France and was fought between the Canadians and the Germans, The Canadians attacked the ridge and captured it from the Germans. This battle was the largest territorial advanced by the Canadian Army, more than 10,600 Canadians were killed during the battle.

    In 1922 a conflict broke out when Turkish forces were threatening British soldiers that were suppose to be stationed in Turkey, Prime Minister William Lyon King Mackenzie King, Britain called for help but Canada refused this moved Canada closer to being independent.

    The Halibut Treaty was a Canadian-American treaty on Fishing rights in the Pacific Ocean, The treaty confirmed Canada's political and economic standing in North America and the treaty was the first environmental treaty to conserve the ocean fish stock.

    The affair began in the 1925 federal election and lasted till June 25th, 1926. Prime Minister William Lyon King Mackenzie wanted to dissolve the government and so they can call a new election. Julies Byng the Governor General refused, Later King won the election the year and the next few years.

    The Balfour report declared that Britain and its associated nations were equal to each other, This was Influenced by the King-Byng affair. This let nations such as Canada, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia to make their own decisions without Britain's consent.

    The statue of Westminster was a British law defining the power of of Canada's Parliament giving freedom in those areas, The dominions gaining full autonomy, This law gave nations to pass their own laws without the approval of the British Parliament, Nations such as Australia, New Zealand,South Africa and Newfoundland.
