    Battle of Vimy Ridge
    The battle of Vimy Ridge is symbolized as the birth of Canadian national pride. It took place on the western front of northern France and was the first time all Canadian Corps were fighting at the same time. They attacked the Ridge from April 9th-12th, 1917, and ultimately captured it from German army. It was the largest territorial advance thus far, but unfortunately it resulted in 10,600 deaths and/or causalities.

    The Paris Peace Conference of 1919 was a conference held in Paris to create the Treaty Of Versailles. Canada got its own seat at the Paris Peace Conference instead of being put as Britains Common Wealth, and also ended up getting their own seat at the League of Nations, which was formed at the Paris Peace Conference.

    The Chanak Affair, which happened in 1992, was Prime Minister William Lyon Mckenzie first major foreign policy test. Britain and Turkey were both fighting over a land called Chanak, and Britain had asked Canada to send over troops. Canada refused to send over troops, even though Britain expected Canada to stay in line with its wishes.

    The Halibut Treaty 0f 1923 was a Canadian-American agreement on fishing rights in the Pacific Ocean. This treaty came about due to the low fishing stock in the North Pacific in the fishing grounds shared by both Canada and the United States. It was the first treaty that Canada had independently signed and negotiated. The treaty also confirmed Canada's political and economic place in Canada.

    The 1926 King-Byng crisis was a constitutional crisis pitting the powers of a Prime Minister against the Governor General. It happened when the Prime Minister asked the Governor General to dissolve a parliament and call fresh elections, but the Governor General refused. Eventually the Prime Minister won.
