    907 Jews where trying to escape Nazi persecution. Canadian immagration would not allow the ship to land, so eventually the people returned to Germany , where many died in death camps. Canada accepted the least amount of Jews during the 1933-1939 Jewish Refugees time. Canada only accepted 4000 Jews, while the United States accpected 140,000 Jews.

    Canada was unprepard for war. When Canada declared war on Germany, Canada only had 4500 men. When the war broke out, nothing happend for 2 months. At this point , Canada had to make a army for war. As soon as they had a army, they sent majority of there troops to Britian so that they can go fight. If Canada only sent 4500 men to go fight in the war, we lose all 4500 men, before 1942.

    The Battle Of Atlantic, began in 1939 until 1945. The significance of this 6 year long battle, was that these ships where meant to sink other German Ships and Subramines so that the Germans couldnt get into Britian and other countries.

    Hitlers plan, was to take out enemy bases in Britian, but one day, a couple of German pilots lost course and accidently bombed London. Britian was in rage, so the following day, a couple pilots set off to Berlin,Germany to bomb there cities. Hitler was inraged, because Hitler said that Germany would never get attacked, at it did. 80 Canadian pilots contributed in this battle. over 100 confirmed kills where identify. If Britian lost this war, we would all be speaking German today.

    The signifagicance of this battle, is that Canadian soldiers where sent to Hong Kong to deffend a small island, but it ended up terriblly wrong, with alot of causualties and alot of prisoneers. The canadian soldiers suffered terribly in prisoneer of war camps.

    The raid on Dieppe, was meant to sieze the town and to destroy facilities and airports and to take German prisoneers back to England. 5000 Canadians died in this battle. It was folish to attack in the broad daylight, because the enemys new that they where coming, and they where prepared. The next time allied forces went to Europe was in June 6th, 1944 to invade Europe.

    This battle was significance because this was the 2nd country that the allies took over, the first country that they took over was Africa. For the allies to attack Italy, where Mussolini was born, this was considered a great success for that allies.

    D Day was such an a important battle, because when the allies first attacked France, they where not succesfull, but the second time that they attacked, they where very succesfull because the Germans retreated and Normandy was won by the Canadians.
