On August 4, 1914, Britain made an offer to Germany, demanding that the Germans leave Belgium. Without a German retreat after midnight, Britain and Germany were at war and this also included Canada. Here, Canada played as a partnering country or 'Brother In Arms'. It has some decline because Canada wasn't it's own country at the time and had to go with Britain since they didn't have a choice. -
The Balfour Report was a important form in Canada's independence transition. Although Canada's politics to the United Kingdom was strong, the Canadian Parliament gained full control. Canada got the freedom and equality they wanted. I believe this is significant progress because Canada got control over their own politics and was now equal to the British -
In December 7, 1941, Canada declared war on Japan. During World War II, Canada also upgraded all of it's defences to prevent the attack posed by the US. Canada played as a country declaring war on Japan that attack the US. I believe this is some incline of progress because they got back at the Japanese troops by starting a war and countering Japanese Forces. -
Team Canada's win over the Soviet Union at the 1972 Winter Olympics is one of the country's most memorable sporting events. It was expected that Canada would win against Soviets, but their confidence disappeared when they lost the first game. Canada played as a losing team because they had a out of the blue lost. I believe this has some incline because Canada ended up winning in the last few games. -
In April 17, 1982, something called a 'Constitution Act' was a turning point in Canada. It gave Canada freedom by giving the country to change its laws without asking the British government. Here Canada played as the receiving end which is them receiving the control over their laws. I believe this has significant progress because after the British having the control over Canadian laws they finally had their own. -
