    During the battle of Dunkirk Canada played a huge role in changing the momentum of this battle. Canada came into this battle wanting to capture and control the port of Dunkirk but also the German launching sites to prevent an attack on southern england. With the help if the Belgian White Brigade Canada easily avoided the defenses and minefeilds of the Germans and accomplished and took control of Dunkirk.

    The British were getting bombared by the Germans and turned to Canada in time of need. Canada stepped up and produced many hurricane fighters and also trained pilots to defend Britain. Canadian fighter groups such as group 242 played a huge role as they took down large amounts of Messerschmitts to give the British time to recover

    Due to the fact that Hong Kong was a great help and colony to Britain they needed to defend it. Canada helped Britain defend hong kong against the Japanesse and fough for 17 days. The poorly equipped Canadians were forced into surrendering as the already lost 290 men including their commander (500 more were injured)!

    Canada along withe US and UK provided many men into the battle of Dieppe. The main goal was to overcome the Germans and take over the coast of France. Canada sent in around 6000 men to rush the beaches first in line, 507 of the men were killed and another 2462 were captured. This raid was extremly fatal for the men of Canada but allowed them to learn to attack tactics a to help them in what is soon to be Dooms Day!

    Canadas first division was sent fromItaly to the western front to help with the advance towards Germnay. This was Canadas big role but this ment a lot because this was Canada first large ground attack participation in WWII. It led to many deaths but showed how determind and supportive Canada could truly be! Over 76'00 Canadian men were serving.

    During D-day the Canadian forces had a huge role which was capturing one of the five beaches "Juno Beach". They also had parachute batallions to protect the men and cut off bridges from the German troops. No one doubted these men as they shouldnt have. The Canadians completed most of their plans and eventually the third division moved more inland and broke the first line of German defences!
