    Fall of the Roman Empire

    The Roman Empire has been becoming weaker and weaker. Odoacer, a German chieftain finished the last Western Roman Empire .This was known as the fall of the Roman Empire, which occurred in 476. The Eastern Roman changed their name to Byzantine and survived for a few more centuries. The fall of the Roman Empire was marked as the beginning of the medieval ages.

    The Battle of Hastings

    The battle of hasting was fought between William, the Duke of Normandy and Harold Godwinson. They were fighting for the England Throne. It occurred in 14th of October 1066 AD. William won by using a strategic and risky move.

    The crusades were a series of war between the Muslim and Christian in Jerusalem. The Muslim took control of Jerusalem in 1070 AD. In 1095 The Pope called the Christian to fight back and regain power, wealth and land. The first crusade occurred in 1099AD

    The Mongols Invade Afghanistan

    The Mongol, being led Genghis Khan, invade Afghanistan in 1219. The Mongols were very destructive. They burned and destroyed. But there they could not eliminate the Afghan resistance. Mongol also invaded Persia, Russia, parts of Eastern Europe and China. The Mongol empire reached its peak at 1280.

    Maori arrived in New Zealand in 1150 AD. First it was only a small group of people or maybe just a family. Then more and more come. It is not known why they went. New Zealand was first called the land of the long white cloud.

    In 1347 - 1352 AD, a disease spread across three continents, Europe Africa and Asia, known as the Black Death or The Plague. The source of this was from fleas. It killed a third of Europe population and many villages. Many small groups were blamed and hunted down and killed, sometimes by being burnt alive.

  • The Feudal System

    Feudal system begins in the Frankish Empire under Charlemagne in 800E. The feudal system had four parts. Peasants, 90% of the population, are bound to the owners, Sub-tenants, which are the knights and lesser clergy, Tenants-in-chief, the lords and bishop, and the Monarch, which is at the top of the system.
  • The Sui Dynasty

    The Sui Dynasty occurred in China from 581AD to 618AD. It was a short Imperial Chinese Empire. After it, the Tang Dynasty replaced it.
  • Vikings raid Europe

    The Viking, also known as Norse, were known to be very aggressive and destructive. They were also very good farmers, tradesman and navigator. The Viking raided one after another. The first recorded Viking attack was Wessex, England which occurred in 787. The last one occurred in 1066 before the Battle of Hasting.
