James tried to obtain as much power as he possible could and had no problem telling his subjects exactly that. Gentry and Parliment became angry with his tactics and methods.

King Charles I promised certain laws and rights would go into place, but he later broke his word. A conflict caused him to order that Parliment be dissolved and only two members of Parliment stood up and refused his orders.

Charles had to call Parliment back together to talk about whether or not they should fund an army against the Calvanist Scots who wouldnt accept the Book of Common Prayer. Showed that Parliment was not completely disbanded.

He tried desperately to turn things around in England. He wanted nothing more than to have monarchs dissolved in England. He did not however compeltely accomplish his goal, but after his death his efforts made monarch's less powerful and useful in England.

Lost all those who were willing to support the King and led to his execution. Execution of the King was also important because it compeltely demolished all alliance and support that the monarch may have had at the time.
