Thousands had succumbed to what seemed like a simple cold and many more in the years to come.     Prohibition
    Alchohol, beer and etc. were confiscated and discontinued for a while. The Canadian government made having possession, trading or drinking alcholic drinks illegal. This is a significant time in Canadian history because this caused less deaths and less men coming home drunk and beating their wives/children.     Beginning of Winnipeg General Strike
    After negotiations failing with unions and the workplace in Winnipeg, thousands of workers held a strike and paraded on for quite some time. Citizens tried to stop this protest that was paralzying the city. Later on many of the protesters were arrested but set free. The federal government created an amendment to a law and sent thousands of police to stop the strike.     Seven artists joined together in 1920 to form the Group of Seven, who were Franklin CARMICHAEL, Lawren HARRIS, A.Y. JACKSON, Franz JOHNSTON, Arthur LISMER, J.E.H. MACDONALD and F.H. VARLEY. They influced the next generation Canadian art and drew many famous painting which are still in many Canadian museums today.     Foster Hewitt, a reporter perfomed his first hockey announcing. For the next half a century, Foster brought joy to Canadian households announcing all that happened in the hockey games. Also in 1972, he announced the game of Russia vs Canada, where Paul Henderson scored the winning shot for Canada.     After the construction of the C.P.R (Canadian Pacific Railway) was done, the government decided to create an act that would prohibit the amount of Chinese immigrants entering the land.     One of the major contributors to the Great Despression was Black Tuesday. Otherwise known as the Great Wall Street Crash of 1929. This day was when the stock market crashed and where hundreds of people lost all their money and jobs. Also many were commiting suicide due to the upcoming financial troubles.
