  • Move into 10th grade year, or sophomore year, of high school

If you've earned at least 6 credits you are considered a sophomore. If not, then you may take sophomore classes although you will still be classified as a 9th grade student until your credits are obtained.
  • Take the PSAT exam by CollegeBoard

  • Move up to your junior year of high school

You are considered a junior, or 11th grade student, if you have at least 12 credits toward graduation. Be prepared to start applying to colleges and making career choices by this grade at the latest.
  • First Attempt: SAT test
